Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin helps children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships. The organization impacts the lives of 3,500 local children ages 6 to 14. Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States, facilitating positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people.
Bridge Community Clinic operates with the belief that everyone, regardless of their income or insurance coverage, deserves access to the best in health and dental care. The clinic provides a sliding fee scale for patients without insurance, participates in all local insurance plans and welcomes patients covered by Medicaid, Medicare or other government programs.
CAMP FOREST SPRINGS & OAK FOREST CENTER
Camp Forest Springs & Oak Forest Center are Christian camps that provide year-around adventure, spiritual renewal and relaxing retreat to campers of all ages. Camp Forest serves children, teens and families while Oak Forest Center is for adults. In addition to their time at camp, select staff members also serve as outreach missionaries to bring their teachings to audiences around the country and sometimes world.

The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin exists to enhance the vibrancy and livability of the area. The Community Foundation is focused on the long-term needs of the community and supports programs and organizations that enhance every aspect of life in our area, including education, the arts, health and human services, and the preservation of historical, cultural and natural resources.
HUMANE SOCIETY OF MARATHON COUNTY
The Humane Society of Marathon County is committed to building better communities for all living creatures. With a mission to relieve the suffering and abuse of animals and foster awareness of their importance in the community, the Humane Society provides leadership in compassionate care placement, public education, humane services and by example.
Chuck Ghidorzi developed the vision for Green & Clean, a community-wide cleanup to rid the landscape of litter and in turn demonstrate greater Wausau’s pride and ownership in the community. Hundreds of volunteers turn out for this annual event to collect countless bags of trash that fill multiple dumpsters to capacity. The impact of this event on the community landscape is incredible.
This 65-acre ranch located in the heart of Wisconsin combines traditional treatment methods with three innovative rehabilitative techniques – hippotherapy (treatment with the help of a horse), horticulture therapy and animal-assisted therapy. Although the facility treats a variety of disorders, they specialize in children and young adults with autism, brain injury and cerebral palsy.
NEVER FORGOTTEN HONOR FLIGHT SERVING NORTHERN WISCONSIN
The Never Forgotten Honor Flight rewards World War II vets on the trip of a lifetime free of charge. Vets take a chartered jet full of their peers to Washington D.C. to visit their memorials. Each is accompanied by a guardian – a close relative or community leader – to attend to their needs during the trip, which is free of charge. The emotional journey includes greetings from school children in D.C., visiting the memorials, a Mail Call with letters from loved ones and a massive welcome home celebration at the airport upon landing.
